More wheel clearance when turning bigger/wider wheels inside the wheelwell, even if you're trying to squeeze out more steering angle, it gives you a bit more clearance. Also gives you camber without having to change/buy an adjustable top hat.
In my case, I can adjust my coilover top hat to 0 camber and because the arms are extended, it pushed out more (again wheelwell clearance.) so I still have the original camber, but i can push out the entire strut assembly outward.
