i have tried all of that, usually when i finally get it to start it is with the hold the gas halfway down technique

and it is manual choke

something is iffy with your timing or the carb then-

i pumped my stock carb one time, regardless of temp of motor or outside air- and clicked the key and it would instantly purr away.. and this is with a carb with no choke of anytype

sure your timing is spot on, no vacuum leaks clean gas plugs good and gapped ect

are you sire you have the stock Carb? every 2tc and 3tc that had the stock Carb was an electric choke

As far as I know its a stock Carb. I will take a pic and post it when I get home from work

Manual choke - pull it all the way out, push it back in 1/4 to 1/3. Remove the aircleaner to check that the choke's butterfly is closed but not closed solidly, just spring loaded closed and that the fast idle cam is ready to bump up the idle as soon as the throttle linkage is opened a bit.
I think it's technique if it isn't poor ignition. Nice fat blue spark? If it runs well & idles smooth when warm, then it isn't the timing.

What is the fast idle cam? And where is it at on the Carb?

olsen bring it by the oil can henry's on capitol hw i'll help you set it if you can get to me
10030 sw capitol hwy pdx 97219 i work monday thru thursday 8am-7pm
if it can be set! sometimes the internals get fuzzy bushes on them and the best route to carb correction i've found is replacement


looking for rear assembly drum to drum or disc to disc 4 lug pattern including open or lsd car has to DD

just did a compression test,
1 = 0
2= like 5
3 = like 35
didnt even bother with 4
