Default CBY Fender Flare Question - 04-27-2012, 12:48 PM

Hello everyone!

Just a quick question for everyone. I wanted to know if authentic CBY fender flares would look good with this wheel fitment:

15x8.5 -35 front
15x9.0 -41 rear

Let me know guys. thanks!

EDIT: Also, what is the best option for tires to give it the widest look I guess. I still want to be able to turn the front wheels without much scraping. Let me know. Thanks!

Those sizes would look good. The front's would be a little "sunk" but it sounds like you are not going for a stretch/fitment thing. So with meaty awesome tires it would look pretty good. But I do not have much experience with meaty tires so someone else will have to recommend something for you.

But the scraping thing will have to do with your ride height/steering mods. I had 14x9 -48 on the front with stretched tires and had problems hitting the frame with my tire and this was with power steering rack and knuckles/stock angle.

So 8.5 -35 your main issue will be rubbing the frame towards the back of the Wheel wells. Every other spot that you will rub is able to be hammered.

If I were to extend the front lower control arms by 1.5", that should give me some extra room right?

Your biggest problem will be your tire size really. Towat had no steering problems because he had 195/45's on the front. I had 175/55 and 185/60s which is why I was rubbing. I assume because of your first post you do not want a larger stretch so your setup would be more like mine.

You can see his stretch in those pictures and see how much more tire I had here.

So would maybe 205/50/15 in the front and 235/50/15 in the rear?

Or 195/50/15 in the front and 205/50/15 in the rear? Anything else I can do, maybe negative camber?

I also have the choice of 195/45/15 in the front and 225/45/15 in the rear, what do you guys think?

If I dont have a tire option, whatever you guys may think is good then.

Also, I don't need any spacers or anything like that correct?

Another dumb question, are there any suspension parts I could use to give it a more aggressive look? Maybe NRCA? Would getting aftermarket control arms to extend even help out? Any other recommendations?

I have Greddy Coilovers, Cusco front RCA, Whiteline Panhard, aftermarket Tension rods, and some more stuff.
